Tugas menunaikan Haji sekurang-kurangnya sekali dalam kehidupan seseorang yang beragama Islam, yang mampu dari segi fizikal dan kewangan adalah suatu kewajipan.
Mengerjakan Haji adalah puncak kerohanian dalam kehidupan mereka dan ianya menjadi impian setiap Muslimin dan Muslimat.
Populasi penduduk beragama Islam di Malaysia adalah lebih kurang 61.3% daripada 30.9 juta (angaran setakat Julai 2016).
Juga memandangkan ibadah Haji itu adalah Rukun Ke-5 dalam Rukun Islam yang diwajibkan sebagai asas kehidupan seseorang Muslim, pihak Majikan mempunyai tanggunjawap moral untuk mengiktirafkan tugas ini dan bertanggungjawap untuk memberi cuti yang diperlukan.
Sebagai tanda menghargai kesucian ini, ia akan menjadi satu tindakan mulia pihak Majikan untuk memberikan kebenaran itu dengan gaji penuh. Ini sekurang-kurangnya akan mengurangkan kebimbangan kewangan pekerja yang berhasrat untuk memenuhi kewajipan ini.
BARISAN Mantap MTUC yang dipimpin oleh Halim-Solomon berjanji untuk menggesa pihak Kerajaan untuk meminda Akta Kerja 1955 untuk memperuntukkan cuti bergaji sebanyak 30 hari untuk pekerja beragama Islam untuk menunaikan Haji.
