Dengan dukacitanya kami memaklumkan pemergian Puan P.C Gomez (Matilda Gomez) pada 26hb September 2018.
Suami beliau, mendiang Encik P. C Gomez merupakan Presiden Pengasas NUBE. Puan Gomez merupakan sumber kekuatan kepada suami beliau semasa perjuangannya. Beliau secara sendiri telah menjaga keluarganya, lima orang anak lelaki dan seorang anak perempuan ketika suami beliau membina Kesatuan Kebangsaan Pekerja-Pekerja Bank (NUBE) dan di dalam proses menyiapkan Perjanjian Kolektif Pertama bagi pekerja bank di Malaysia. Pihak kesatuan akan sentiasa terhutang budi kepada keluarga beliau atas pengorbanan yang dilakukan sepanjang tempoh yang mencabar.
Delegasi dari Ibu Pejabat NUBE dan ahli-ahli Jawatankuasa Cawangan Ipoh yang diketuai oleh Setiausaha Agung, J. Solomon telah menghadiri upacara pengebumian beliau di Gereja Our Lady of Lourdes Ipoh pada 28hb September 2018 dan mengucapkan takziah kepada keluarga beliau.
Semoga roh beliau tenang dan damai serta kami mendoakan agar anak-anak dan cucu-cucu beliau akan memperolehi kekuatan untuk menanggung kehilangan ibu dan nenek mereka. Semoga ucapan takziah kami ini memberikan ketenangan dan semoga doa kami dapat meredakan kedukaan mereka atas kehilangan ini.
