En. Mukhtar Malik Hussain, pegawai tertinggi HSBC Bank Bhd melakukan pelanggaran kedua Akta Keselamatan Pekerjaan 1994 (AKP)- Peraturan-Peraturan Jawatankuasa Keselamatan dan Kesihatan 1996, Bahagian IV.
Beliau melanggar Peraturan 27. (1) Akta itu kerana dia tidak mematuhi keperluan mandatori mengemukakan Minit mesyuarat OSH kepada setiap ahli Jawatankuasa dalam tempoh dua (2) minggu selepas mesyuarat itu diadakan.
Pertama, Bank gagal mengadakan mesyuarat mengikut undang-undang. Sekarang, mereka gagal untuk menyediakan minit mesyuarat.
Orang yang didapati tidak mematuhi peraturan-peraturan di atas melakukan kesalahan dan kalau disabitkan, boleh dikenakan denda tidak lebih daripada lima (5) ribu Ringgit atau penjara selama tempoh tidak melebihi enam bulan atau kedua-duanya. Ini dinyatakan di bawah Peraturan 32 Akta OSH.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif bertanggungjawab secara langsung untuk memastikan Jawatankuasa AKP berfungsi dengan betul dan berkesan untuk memastikan kesihatan dan keselamatan pekerja di HSBC Bank (M) Bhd.
Encik Mukhtar Malim Hussain juga telah gagal untuk menjawab surat-surat kami.
Nampaknya Encik Mukhtar Malik Hussain yang berasal dari Kuwait mencari pekerjaan di Malaysia kini sibuk membeli rumah bernilai berjuta-juta Ringgit disamping memaksa rakyat Malaysia menganggur dan mengabaikan tanggungjawapnya untuk menyediakan persekitaran kerja yang selamat dengan mematuhi AKP Malaysia.
