Pekerjaan itu ialah tahap penggunaan kebolehan fizikal dengan mental seseorang manusia dengan ganjaran yang disediakan oleh pihak organisasi.
Ganjaran yang diperoleh ini akan ditukarkan pula dengan keperluan-keperluan lain seperti makanan, penginapan, pakaian dan sebagainya supaya mereka boleh meneruskan kehidupan masing-masing.
Memandangkan kepentingan pekerjaan itu maka manusia menghabiskan sebahagian besar masanya ditempat pekerjaan mereka.
Walau dari sudut apa sahaja kita cuba memahami konsep kerja ini, akhirnya boleh disimpulkan bahawa pekerjaan adalah sumber untuk memuaskan kehidupan.
