ARTIKEL tulisan Misha Kerchell dalam portal The Conversation menekankan bahawa "sudah terbukti pekerja-pekerja yang menyertai kesatuan menikmati upah lebih baik dan mempunyai faedah lebih baik berbanding rakan mereka yang tidak menyertai kesatuan. Pekerja menganggotai kesatuan juga mempunyai tahap sekuriti pekerjaan jauh lebih besar semasa pandemik COVID-19 sekarang."
Oleh itu, jika kelebihan menganggotai kesatuan begitu jelas, mengapa ramai masih belum menjadi ahli kesatuan?
Malah menurut Kerchell, walaupun terdapat taktik-taktik kotor mahu menghalang penyertaan ke dalam kesatuan secara agresif, tinjauan pendapat umum menunjukkan bahawa jika diberi pilihan, ramai pekerja bukan ahli kesatuan akan memilih untuk sertai kesatuan.
