Mesyuarat Majlis Am MTUC yang pertama bagi penggal 2017-2019 telah diadakan pada 22 Januari, Mesyuarat dimulakan dengan bacaan Doa oleh Naib Presiden Sdr Zainol dan dipengerusikan oleh Presiden Sdr Abdul Halim dengan jumlah kehadiran hampir seramai 100 orang ahli Majlis Am.
Selepas ucapan pembukaan oleh Presiden buat pertama kalinya seisi fotografi telah diadakan di hadapan Wisma MTUC.
Mesyuarat telah berjalan dengan lancar dan pelbagai isu telah diutarakan oleh Presiden, Setiausaha Agung Sdr J Solomon dan Setiausaha Kewangan Sdr. Ng Peng Hoe kepada ahli-ahli Majlis Am.
Ahli-Ahli Jawatankuasa kerja berperlembagaan telah ditubuhkan dan telah dinasihatkan untuk menjalankan tugasan mereka dengan tekun.
Setiausaha Agung melaporkan kepada Majlis Am mengenai keperluan Pusat Perkhidmatan yang akan ditubuhkan dan Persidangan Kebangsaan selama 3 hari untuk semua pemimpin utama yang telah sebulat suara diterima oleh Majlis Am.
Pada penutupan mesyurat Presiden dan Setiausaha Agung telah mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada semua Ahli Majlis Am di di atas kehadiran mereka dan mengucapkan Selamat Tahun Baru Cina kepada semua ahli yang berbangsa cina dan selamat bercuti kepada semua.
