Hong Kong: ITUC Mengutuk Pendakwaan Terhadap Aktivis Kesatuan Sekerja dan Masyarakat Sivil
Kesatuan Sekerja Antarabangsa (ITUC) dengan tegas mengutuk sabitan besar-besaran terhadap aktivis kesatuan sekerja dan masyarakat sivil di Hong Kong di bawah Undang-Undang Keselamatan Negara (NSL) yang menindas.
Empat puluh tujuh pembela pro-demokrasi, termasuk Carol Ng dan Winnie Yu, telah ditangkap atas tuduhan konspirasi untuk subversi kerana mengambil bahagian dalam pemilihan awal pada tahun 2020 untuk memilih calon bagi pilihan raya Majlis Perundangan.
Empat belas daripada mereka yang mengaku tidak bersalah, termasuk Winnie Yu, telah disabitkan kesalahan minggu lalu.
Sejak dikuatkuasakan pada 1 Julai 2021, NSL telah digunakan untuk menghalang hak-hak pekerja dan kesatuan sekerja dengan teruk:
Sebanyak 292 individu telah ditangkap di bawah undang-undang ini.
195 individu telah didakwa dan 71 disabitkan kesalahan.
Carol Ng dan Winnie Yu telah ditahan tanpa jaminan selama lebih dari tiga tahun.
HKCTU dan HAEA terpaksa dibubarkan pada tahun 2021 dan 2022.
Setiausaha Agung ITUC, Luc Triangle, menegaskan: "Kami menuntut pembebasan segera semua pemimpin, ahli, dan aktivis kesatuan sekerja yang telah ditahan secara tidak adil. Hak kesatuan sekerja adalah hak asasi manusia dan mesti ditegakkan."
Jawatan kuasa Kebebasan Berpersatuan ILO (CFA) dan Pejabat Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Hak Asasi Manusia Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (OHCHR) juga menyeru pembebasan segera aktivis yang ditahan dan mengkaji kesan NSL terhadap hak pekerja.
