NUBE telah membuat siri kedua laporan polis terhadap Menteri Sumber Manusia, Steven Sim Chee Keong 沈志强 , atas dakwaan salah guna kuasa. Menteri ini didakwa telah merujuk pertikaian antara NUBE dan Persatuan Bank-Bank Perdagangan Malaya (MCBA) mengenai pembayaran bantuan perayaan ke Mahkamah Perusahaan sementara proses perundingan masih berlangsung.
Pertikaian ini sepatutnya hanya dirujuk ke mahkamah jika ada kebuntuan yang tidak dapat diselesaikan, namun ini tidak berlaku. Kejadian ini telah menyebabkan kerugian kepada kira-kira 15,000 ahli NUBE dalam kategori B40 dan M40.
Solomon, Setiausaha Agung NUBE, menegaskan bahawa tindakan Menteri Sim ini adalah pelanggaran kuasa yang harus disiasat oleh polis.
