Menteri Belia dan Sukan Khairy Jamaluddin melahirkan kebimbangan bahawa sikap rakyat Malaysia boleh menyebabkan Pelan Transformasi Negara 2050 (TN50) gagal.
Beliau memetik ucapan bekas perdana menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad pada Perhimpunan Agung Umno tahun 2002 dengan beliau melahirkan rasa kesal kerana gagal mengubah minda orang Melayu.
Ini, kata Khairy, terpakai kepada semua rakyat Malaysia.
Beliau turut memetik seorang lagi bekas perdana menteri, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yang pernah berkata rakyat Malaysia mempunyai kemudahan dunia pertama tetapi minda dunia ketiga.
“Kebimbangan utama saya adalah sama ada boleh mengubah sikap dan tingkah laku kita.
“Kamu boleh bentangkan pelan terbaik, anda boleh mempunyai peta hala tuju menjadi 20 negara terbaik tetapi tanpa perubahan sikap, tingkah laku di Malaysia, maka kamu tidak akan berjaya,” kata Khairy.
Beliau berkata demikian semasa majlis penutupan Sidang Kemuncak Kepimpinan Aspirasi Negara di Kuala Lumpur hari ini.
