The 1st MTUC General Council meeting for the term 2017-2019 started with the recitation of Doa by Vice President Sdr Zainol and presided by the President Sdr Abdul Halim and almost 100 General Council members were present.
After the opening remarks by the President for the first time a group photo was taken in front of Wisma MTUC.
The meeting went on smoothly as various issues were reported by the President, the Secretary General Sdr J Solomon and Financial Secretary Sdr. Ng Peng Hoe to the members of the General Council.
Constitutional sub committees were formed and were advised to carry out their duties diligently.
The Secretary General reported to the Council on the need for the Service Centre to be established and a three days National Conference for all key leaders which was unanimously accepted by the General Council.
In the closing the President and Secretary General thanked the the General Council members for their participation and wished all Chinese members Happy Chinese New Year and happy holidays to others.
